These terms apply to every appointment at JJ Spa Body & Facials, 1522 Makaloa Street, Ste 202, Honolulu, HI 96814, whether you booked online, by phone, by text, or at the front desk. Booking an appointment means you accept them.
The short version
- Cancel or change with 24 hours' notice and nothing is charged.
- Same-day cancellation is charged 50% of the service price.
- Not arriving without telling us first is charged in full, and nothing is refunded.
- A deposit paid online is applied to your service, not an extra fee.
- Cancelling in time gets the deposit back, or moves it to your new time.
1. Booking and confirmation
A time chosen through the online booking calendar is confirmed as soon as you complete it. A request left on our form, by phone or by text is not an appointment until we confirm it back to you — we do that by phone or text the same day we're open.
We're open Monday to Saturday, 10:30am–5:30pm Hawaii time, Wednesdays from 1:00pm, and closed Sunday. Requests that arrive outside those hours are answered on the next open day.
We have two treatment rooms — one single and one couples — so the times shown online are genuinely what's free. If nothing suits, call (808) 397-1231; the front desk can see the whole week.
2. Deposits and payment
Booking online may ask for a card deposit to hold the room. Where one is required, the amount is shown to you before you confirm, and card payments are handled by Square — we never see or store your full card number.
A deposit is part of the price, not on top of it. It comes off the total when you arrive, and the balance is settled at the spa. Booking by phone, by text or at the front desk does not require a deposit; you pay for the service on the day.
Prices are per person unless the service says "total, for two". Prices can change, but never for an appointment you have already booked — what you were quoted is what you pay.
A service you have already received is not refundable. If something about your visit wasn't right, tell us before you leave — we would much rather fix it that day.
3. Cancelling, rescheduling and no-shows
Two rooms and one therapist means a cancelled hour is an hour that cannot be resold at short notice, which is the whole reason this policy exists.
Cancel or reschedule by calling or texting (808) 397-1231. Please don't rely on the booking confirmation email to do it — the reliable way to reach us is the phone, and the clock below runs from when you reach us.

Telling us first is what makes a refund possible. If you don't arrive and haven't contacted us beforehand, the appointment is charged in full and we cannot refund it — including any deposit. One phone call or text before your time, however late, is always better than not calling: it lets us offer the hour to someone else, and it keeps your options open.
Refunds go back to the card that paid, and Square usually takes 5–10 business days to show them. Rescheduling once with 24 hours' notice is free and does not use up your deposit.
If we have to cancel or move your appointment — illness, a room problem, anything on our side — you get the whole deposit back, or the first time that suits you, whichever you prefer. No fee, ever.
4. Arriving late
Please arrive about 10 minutes early; there is parking in the Makaloa Plaza structure and we're on the second floor. If you arrive late we will do as much of your service as the remaining time allows, because the room is booked after you — the session still ends at its scheduled time and the full price applies. Arriving more than 20 minutes late is treated as a no-show.
5. The couples room
The couples room takes two guests at the same hour with two therapists, and the price shown for a couples service is the total for both of you. It also takes a single guest on its own. We never put two strangers in it together.
Both guests are on one booking, so a cancellation or a no-show by either one is a cancellation of the whole appointment under section 3. If one of you can't come, call us — we can usually convert it to a single service rather than charge you for a no-show.
6. Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) courses
SMP is not booked online. The first appointment is a consultation, so call or text (808) 397-1231 and we'll look at the area first.
Every SMP price is the total for a course of four sessions, not a per-session rate — M-Shaped Hairline $550, Crown Area $850, Full Scalp $1,500. The sessions are spaced out over the course and scheduled with you as you go. Each session follows the same 24-hour rule in section 3.
SMP is a cosmetic tattoo — it places pigment in the scalp to give the look of density. It does not regrow hair and it is not a medical treatment for hair loss. Tell us before you book if you are pregnant, under a doctor's care, prone to keloid scarring, or have had anything done to the scalp before.
7. Gift certificates
Gift certificates are $100 or $200 and are bought in the spa. They are not redeemable for cash, they expire one year from purchase, and they can only be used by the person named on the certificate. An appointment paid with a gift certificate is subject to the same cancellation terms as any other.
8. Health, comfort and conduct
Tell us when you book, and again when you arrive, if you are pregnant, recovering from an injury or surgery, under a doctor's care, or have allergies or skin conditions — some services need to be adjusted or skipped, and we would rather know before you're on the table than after. Tell your therapist about pressure at any point; changing it is the easiest thing in the room.
Our services are strictly non-sexual. Any suggestion otherwise ends the session immediately, the full price is charged, and we will decline future bookings. Our therapists have the same right to end a session for any behaviour that makes the spa unsafe or uncomfortable.
Please leave valuables at home. We can't take responsibility for personal belongings brought into the spa.

10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version is posted here with a new date. The terms that apply to your appointment are the ones published on the day you booked it.
